Amirh Davis

Childcare Director & Founder

Amirh is one of the co-founders of Pillar Cowork. She leads the Pillar Kids learning space along with the support of an experienced teaching staff and group of advisors.

Amirh is the mother of three young children and remains passionate about working with children in her personal and professional life. This has demonstrated by her volunteer work as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) for children in Contra Costa County.

Amirh has a B.S. in Management Science from UC San Diego and is currently a student of Diablo Valley College’s Early Childhood Education (ECE) program, where she studies philosophies and best practices related to early childhood development for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers.

Ashley Parks, M.A.

Consultant/Subject Matter Expert

Ashley is a Professor at Diablo Valley College, Presenter, and Education Consultant specializing in Curriculum. Ashley has acted as a consultant for Pillar since its planning and inception phases. She believes that children deserve to be loved, respected, and given the freedom to explore. Her background focuses on Emergent Curriculum, Project Work, and the Reggio Emilia Approach. It is her belief that children learn best through hands-on, collaborative, open-ended experiences that reflect their interests. These experiences teach children to work together, problem solve, and lead to a love of learning. Research has shown that children thrive in an environment that encourages curiosity and puts an emphasis on play. Ashley hopes that one day, all children (and adults!), will be given back their right to play!

Ashley received both her BA and MA in Child Development from CSUS. She currently resides in Brentwood, CA with her husband, highly energetic son, and several dogs.

Miss Angelina

Full Time Teacher

Hello Families! “Miss Angelina” here, thrilled to join Pillar Kids!

My passion for young minds comes from 20+ years in play-based learning across play centers, art schools, even the Navy Reserves! My B.A. in Human Development and Master Teacher Certification fuel my approach: children learn through play, respect, and caring for each other.

I have a daughter, grandson, and furry friend, and love gardening, crafting, and WWII history.

Lam

Full Time Teacher

Hi! Lam here, thrilled to join Pillar! Teaching for 9 years, most recently at Cuesta College Children’s Center, nurtured my belief in fostering strong child-family relationships for student success and passion discovery.

Outside the classroom, my husband, 2 Labrador Retrievers (River & Rio, father-son duo!), and I conquer hiking trails and campsites.

Fun fact: I’ve volunteered as a white-water rafting guide with Inspiring Connections Outdoor (Sierra Club) for 20 years! ️
